The first of several town hall meetings across the state's 51st Senate District will be held Saturday in Lumpkin County.

Sen. Steve Gooch, R-Dahlonega, will answer questions about legislative efforts going on in Atlanta that affect local voters beginning at 10 a.m.

He said all constituents are welcome to attend the informal discussion that will be held at the Lumpkin County Community Center, at 365 Riley Road, Dahlonega.

During the 2014 legislative session, Gooch plans to travel through the district to meet with constituents and discuss common questions and concerns, both locally and at the state level.

The 51st district includes, Dawson, Fannin, Gilmer, Lumpkin, Union and White counties, as well as portions of Forsyth and Pickens counties.

Additional meeting times and dates will be set in the weeks to come.
