Dawson County Emergency Services personnel attended the 39th Annual Firefighters Recognition Day held at the state capitol on Feb. 1. The event recognizes and pays tribute to the firefighting community.

Sponsored by the Georgia State Firefighters Association, guest speakers at the event included Gov. Nathan Deal, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, House Speaker David Ralston and Attorney General Sam Olens, among others.

Firefighters were also honored with a lunch provided by the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation during which Dawson County Emergency Services was recognized for its contribution to the “Give Burns the Boot” fundraising campaign.
