Dawson County has a new chief financial officer.
Vicki Neikirk's first day on the job was April 25. She takes over the position previously held by Dena Bosten who resigned in March.
"I am extremely honored to be chosen to serve the citizens of Dawson County as chief financial officer. I look forward to working with County Manager Randall Dowling, the board of commissioners and the finance staff to ensure that the county maintains a strong and viable financial position," Neikirk said.
Neikirk has more than 15 years of county and city government finance experience.
She most recently served as Hall County's director of financial services for nearly four years. She resigned in June 2015.
Previously, Neikirk was CFO for White County and the city of Toccoa.
She holds a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of North Georgia and received her Financial Officer Certification from the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia.
Dowling said Neikirk brings a proven performance record of financial government management to the Dawson County Board of Commissioners.
"Dawson County is very fortunate to have recruited a department head of Mrs. Neikirk's caliber with deep experience in both city and county government operations," he said.
