Schedule of events for Georgia Cities Week in Dawsonville

April 13: New banners around downtown for Georgia Cities Week.

April 14: "If I Were Mayor" writing contest awards at city hall.

April 15: Dollar Lunch Day at city hall from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided by the Dawsonville Pool Room and Chick-fil-A.

April 16: Race day with Chase Elliott at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. Free admission from 4 to 6 p.m. There will be photo opportunities and autographs with Chase Elliott from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

April 17: City vehicles will be on display in the city hall parking lot from 2 to 4 p.m. Come see tractors, dump trucks, road equipment and more.

April 18: City hall will be closed for Good Friday.

 

The city of Dawsonville will be hosting a week of events as part of a statewide initiative to boost town tourism and appreciation.

April 13-19 has been designated as Georgia Cities Week, with the theme "People, Place and Purpose." The week is an opportunity to spotlight city government and what the city has to offer.

"Bring the whole family out for these great events to show off our city pride," said Dawsonville Mayor James Grogan. "Your participation will make this event successful. We look forward to seeing you here, [at the] city hall complex."

Dawsonville will be participating in the week-long event with banners in the downtown area, an "If I Were Mayor" writing contest, Dollar Lunch Day at city hall, Race Day at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame and a city vehicle display.
