As of 1:15 p.m. today, more than 1,137 voters had filed in to cast their ballots in Dawson County.

The East Precint, located at the new Fire Station No. 2 near Dawson Forest Road and Hwy. 53 East, is being used for the first time as a voting location.

Other polling places are the election office on Academy Avenue and Fire Station No. 6, just outside Big Canoe.

"It's been a steady stream all day long," said, Glenda Ferguson, chairperson of the Dawson County Board of Elections and Registration.

Those looking to watch election night results can visit city hall, where numbers will be projected on a big screen.

On the ballot, locally, are Dawson County's three District 3 commission hopefuls and 10 candidates looking to be the next Clerk of Superior Court.

Polls opened today at 7 a.m. and will close at 7 p.m.
