Chapter #970 of Vietnam Veterans of America announces its scholarship program for 2018. Two scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $500 to a high school senior in Dawson County and a high school senior in Lumpkin County.

Applicants must be a graduating senior and be a descendant of a United States military veteran of any wartime service to present. Descendant, as defined by the Chapter includes: children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Applicants must be in financial need to meet college or university educational expenses, maintain above average grades and most importantly, demonstrate a spirit of volunteerism and community involvement.

Applications are available through the counselor’s office at Dawson County High School or through VVA Chapter 970, P. O. Box 1205, Dawsonville, Ga. 30534.

The submission deadline is April 13.
