Dawson County High School students Olin Bearden, Justin Hodgins, Kale Scott and Seth Stowers competed in the Annual EMC/FFA Career Development Event Nov. 6 at Amicalola EMC in Jasper.

Students from Dawson, Gilmer and Pickens counties competed in the event.

Stowers placed first and Scott placed second. Both are from Dawson County High School.

Sponsored by Amicalola EMC, the EMC/FFA wiring contest gives students the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in electrical wiring, critical thinking and communications.

EMCs throughout Georgia sponsor these activities as a means of promoting education and the safe, efficient use of electrical energy.
