Black's Mill Elementary School held its spelling bee Jan. 15 in the media center, where fourth and fifth grade students competed for the title of spelling champ.  

Fourth grade student Grace Sheer won the bee, and fifth grade student Allie Phillips was the runner up.  Sheer will go on to compete at the Dawson County School System Spelling Bee Jan. 29 at Dawson County Middle School against winners from Robinson and Kilough elementary schools, DCMS and Riverview Middle School.  

Winners from the Robinson and Kilough spelling bees will be announced.
