Student wins at state event

More than 400 young people from across the state attended the Career and Technical Instruction Fall Leadership Conference on Nov. 11-12, including students from Dawson County.

 

The event, which was held in Atlanta, featured competitions in four academic areas including current events, mathematics, spelling and social studies.

 

Jaci Redd won first place in current events and second place in social studies.

 

Other local students who attended the conference included Regan Medlock, Paige Martin, Dana Samples, CTI para-educator and Billie Cain, CTI coordinator.

Georgia Career and Technical Instruction played host to the event.

 

According to its Web site, Georgia Career and Technical Instruction “provides support services for high school students enrolled in career, technical and agricultural programs.”
