Sawnee EMC accepting applications for scholarships and trip

The Sawnee Foundation Youth Scholarship program, a part of Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (Sawnee EMC) is currently accepting applications for scholarships for high school seniors.

The foundation board has awarded 11-15 $4,000 scholarships over their seven county service area in the last two years.
Juniors and seniors in high school can apply for the Washington Youth Tour. This tour is a free week in Washington DC with over 1,000 other teens who are interested in learning about government, leadership and meeting new people.

To apply for the tour applicants must be 16 years old by June 1, 2015 and be available to participate the week of June 8-15, 2017.

Two students will be chosen to participate on the week-long trip. They will have the opportunity to see the Capitol, major monuments and museums in the area.
