The Rotary Club of Dawson County's Student of the Month for September is Megan Morley, a fifth grader at Black's Mill Elementary.

"She does very well in school. She is a hard worker who does not mind studying. She is responsible, makes good decisions, and is dependable when asked to do things. We are very proud of her here at Black's Mill," said Principal Cindy Kinney.

Rotary President Brooke Anderson said supporting education in the community is important to the club and its membership.
"Rotary Club of Dawson County believes the future of our community lies with the elementary students of Dawson County," he said. "We have developed this program to encourage and promote outstanding fifth grade students in each elementary school."

The Rotary Student of the Month alternates between the county's four elementary schools and is selected by the respective principal.

Kinney and Anderson presented Megan with two tickets to the local movie theater as her prize for standing out and setting a positive example for her classmates.

Rotary meets for breakfast at 7:30 a.m. each Thursday at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in downtown Dawsonville.

Guests are welcome.
