The Hightower Academy recently graduated five seniors Dec. 2017. Assistant Principal Stan Williams hopes to graduate the rest of the seniors in the spring 2018 alongside the DCHS seniors at the new UNG Convocation Center in Dahlonega.
In the 2017-18 school year, Hightower Academy has grown by 25 students seeking their education in a non-traditional setting. The school serves the students in the Dawson County School System and high school students attending the Academy are still considered members of DCHS.
“We do want our community to know that Hightower is a great opportunity to earn the same diploma as Dawson County High School in a different setting than that of a traditional High School,” said Williams.
Students attend classes four days a week, 7:40 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The school is located at 175 Tiger Circle, Dawsonville.
