The Dawson County High School yearbook staff won several state awards at the Georgia Scholastic Press Association Fall Conference on Nov. 1 in Athens. The awards are for work that was submitted from the 2017 Tiger yearbook.

Overall the book received a Superior rating from GSPA.  Individual Superior awards included:

Marley Hamby – Special Interest Story – “All About Art” profile

Marley Hamby – Yearbook Story – “Mens Cross Country”

Braxton Zeidler – Information Graphic – “Sticky Situations”


All Georgia awards are given to the one best entry in each category.  This is equivalent to placing first in state.  The staff earned the following All Georgia awards:
