Thanks to recent icy weather, high school students who needed some extra time to study for exams are in luck.

Last week’s school cancellations forced administrators to reschedule end-of-semester exams.

Exams for fall semester will now be held on Jan. 5, two days after students return from Christmas vacation, according to Principal Jute Wilson.

“When we return from Christmas break, we’re going to stay in our first semester classes for a day and spend the time reviewing,” Wilson said.

The review day will be on Jan. 4. Spring semester classes will begin on Jan. 6.

Wilson said administrators and faculty “sat down and put our heads together [Dec. 17], and I think this plan will give our kids an opportunity to freshen up and review before their exams.”
