On Saturday, Aug. 1, Dawson County High School hosted the official graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020. The ceremony, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and then rescheduled after being voted on by the graduating seniors, took place on the DCHS football field. The 230 graduates walked across the stage and receive their diplomas, and addresses were given by DCHS principal Michael Negley, Superintendent Damon Gibbs, Salutatorian Harly Devilla, Valedictorian Taylor Daniel, and class president Katelynn Cagle.
