Each year Dawson County Retired Educators Association sponsors an essay contest for fifth grade students. The topic this year was: “Grandparents, or other adult relative, who have influenced my life.”
The essay is to be written in a classroom setting and cash prizes are awarded to the winners.
Black’s Mill Elementary School winners for 2010 are: Savannah Hughes, first place; Casey Passmore, second place; Anneka Byers and Caleb Hardy, honorable mentions.
Kilough Elementary winners for 2010 are: Lexie Warner, first place; Destiny Breyaert, second place; Ana Swanger and Nicholas Rhoades, honorable mentions.
Robinson Elementary winners for 2010 are: Brandon Weathers, first place; Chad Port, second place; Devin Allen and Heidi Collett, honorable mentions.
