Sarah Rebecca Melton of Dawsonville was recently awarded a full-tuition scholarship by the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of Georgia Foundation.

Fred Kitchens, executive director of the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of Georgia, presented the scholarship at a reception held Nov. 19 for Melton — a management major at North Georgia College & State University.

Created in 1964, the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of Georgia Foundation, through its memorial contributions, has been a lasting tribute to industry members and friends.

Over the years, the foundation has provided more than 1,000 scholarships for students, surpassing $1 million in awards for students at Georgia colleges and universities.
