Dawson County Schools report dip in weekly positive COVID-19 cases

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, the Dawson County School System released it’s weekly COVID-19 update, reporting that positive cases of the virus in the school system have dropped considerably in the past week. 

According to the release by the school system, there are currently 7 total student positive cases, which accounts for 0.19% of the 3,670 students in the school system. In total, 86 total students are quarantined due to possible exposure to COVID-19. 

There are currently no positive cases of the virus amongst the school staff, and no staff quarantined this week, the report states. 

The release also reported that there are currently 86 active cases of the virus in Dawson County, per the Dawson County Emergency Medical Services.
