The visual arts programs of the Dawson County Schools are working together to present the first ever county wide art show-"Visual Expressions."

The show will include the work of students from all Dawson County Schools, elementary through high school.

Students from Dawson County High School are assisting in the process of putting the show together.

"This is a great opportunity to pull together our programs as ‘One Dawson' and allow our students to inspire each other," said Dawson County High School art teacher Jennifer Brinson.

"This art show will allow the community to become active participants in the education of their students," Brinson said. "This also helps the participating visual arts educators-Tracey Burnette, John Lundy, Joy Clark, Chris Lundy, Cory Hall and myself-an opportunity to advocate their program and show the importance of a well-rounded art education."

"Visual Expressions" will be a shared expense of the participating programs.

Participating students will receive a t-shirt provided by Burnette's art studio, Around Back at Rocky's Place. The shirts feature a design by the show's student director, senior Bryson Gunter.

"He has shown amazing talent and leadership," Brinson said.

The show will run from April 19-29 at the Dawson County Courthouse , 25 Justice Way. A reception will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. April 21.
