Sawnee EMC is offering college scholarships to current high school seniors who live in Dawson County.

Scholarship packets have been delivered to the high school, and applications are available online at www.sawnee.com, or by contacting Cindy Badgett at (678) 455-1539.

The application deadline is 5 p.m. Jan. 14.

In addition, the corporation is also offering two high school students an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C.

The week-long trip is available to students between the ages of 16 and 18, who attend school in Dawson County.

Local students selected for the honor will join about 100 other students from Georgia.

Next summer’s tour will be held June 9-16, 2011. Applications can be found at the high school’s guidance counselor’s office or online at www.sawnee.com.
