In the Aug. 21 runoff, Doug Collins pushed ahead of Martha Zoller to take the U.S. Representative, District 9 seat for the Republican party.

Collins had 54.62 percent of the vote, with a total of 38,993 votes.

Zoller had a total of 32,393 votes, or 45.38 percent.

In Dawson County, however, Zoller had a sizable lead over Collins, with 58.82 percent of the vote.

Nearly 1,500 people voted in Dawson County on the Aug. 21 run-off.
