Woman attempts to run over husband with car

A member of the Elliott family was arrested early Tuesday morning for aggravated assault after attempting to run over another family member with a car, according to officials with the Dawson County Sheriffs Office.

Sheila G. Elliott, 63, of Dawsonville, was arrested at approximately 4 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, for allegedly assaulting Ernest G. Elliott with a 2004 Mercedes Benz at an address on Elliott Family Parkway.

According to the March 28 arrest warrant, Ernest and Shelia Elliott are husband and wife, and that Mrs. Elliott revved the engine of her Mercedes and attempted to run Mr. Elliot over with the vehicle on March 18, sometime between noon and 3 p.m. Mr. Elliot escaped injury by climbing under a trailer.

It was reported to us March 24, Dawson County Sheriffs Capt. Tony Wooten said.

When officers responded to take the report and Mrs. Elliott was about to be taken into custody, a medical situation occurred, Wooten said. The medical situation had to be dealt with at that particular moment.

Wooten was not at liberty to go into details regarding the medical incident.

At press time, Mrs. Elliott was in the Dawson County jail.
