Two women were found dead in a Dawson County apartment over the weekend.

Dawson County Coroner Ted Bearden said a 911 call came in about 10:50 Sunday morning, and Emergency Services was dispatched to Dawson Forest Apartments.

Two women, ages 34 and 37, were found dead in the apartment. The cause of death is unknown and is still under investigation, Bearden said.

The women were identified as Heather Carroll and Christina McCarthy.

Bearden said the two bodies were sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations forensic lab for autopsies.

Bearden said the apartment belonged to a relative of one of the deceased women.
