A Wendys customer took a wrong turn and her truck ended up inside the restaurants dining room.
At 4:30 p.m. on Thursday a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck attempting to back up struck the east
wall of the business and came to rest in the dining area, Georgia State Patrol spokesperson Robin Stone said.
The truck was driven by Laurie Petter, 67, of Cumming. Petter had a five year old passenger with her who had a small
cut to her foot but was not seriously injured.
Two patrons that were in the restaurant were treated at the scene for cuts from glass and debris, but no one was seriously injured, Stone said.
The driver said when she put the vehicle in reverse it accelerated for an unknown reason and she was unable to stop
it, Stone said.
Petter was not issued any citations.
The restaurant closed briefly, but management said the drive thru was opened shortly after. The restaurant returned to
normal business hours on Friday.
