Tigers take four wins at track and field meet

In a stadium full of athletes, four competitors from Dawson County High School stood above the rest as the Tigers hosted East Hall and White County last Thursday.

Hayden Wilson represented the Lady Tigers with a first-place finish in the discus throw.

Caroline Lee raced to a top finish in the 400-meter sprint event, while Kimberly Wallace flew to victory in the long jump competition.

Representing the Dawson County boys team, Cory Jenkins topped the competition to take first place in the pole vault event.

In the overall girls standings, White County narrowly snagged the team victory with 91 points, just ahead of Cass with 90, while Dawson County finished in third with 55, and East Hall rounded out the field with 15 points.

The boys team competition was led again by White County with 91 points, while Cass took second with 75, East Hall in third with 48, and Dawson County in fourth with 31 points.

Dawson County begins the Region Meet today and continues this weekend at Jefferson High School.
