Family and friends of Kenneth Stewart, III gathered at Moss Cemetery on Saturday, Dec. 7 to celebrate and remember the undying spirit of Dawson Countys Soldier Boy. In remembrance of his 13th birthday, hundreds of balloons were released at Stewarts graveside. Stewart lost his battle with medullablastomas on March 11, 2013. Prior to his death, he was sworn in as a U. S. Army Specialist by Ft. Benning, was awarded the rank of Ranger at Camp Merrell in Dahlonega, and Gov. Deal awarded him the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
