Region games on the horizon for baseball

With the varsity baseball squad still working its way through the first half of the season, the Region 7-AAA games have already been kind to the Tigers.

Last week the Tigers took on their first two Region opponents and came away with three wins to show for their efforts.

Dawson traveled to Oakwood and grabbed a 10-5 win versus West Hall before returning to Dawsonville two days later and fending off the Spartans 6-5.

Next, the Tigers welcomed a quality White County team to town in a matchup of two squads who could end up battling for playoff spots.

Although they came in scoring over eight runs per game, the Warriors could only manage three in a 5-3 victory by Dawson County.

This week, the Tigers will face a serious challenge against Region leader North Hall.

Dawson will travel to battle the Trojans and their potent offense today before hosting North Hall on Friday.

The Tigers will then get back to work on Monday with a home game against a familiar opponent, the Banks County Leopards.
