Dawson County now has a place to get Louisiana-style fried chicken.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Restaurant opened Sept. 6, at 429 Power Center Dr. in Dawsonville.
The location is owner Aziz Hashims 15th Popeyes restaurant.
Dawsonville is truly a pro-business city, Hashim said at the opening. Im happy to report 40 new employees were hired for this restaurant. Out of those 40, 26 were not employed prior to this opening. That is the impact of a Popeyes on a community.
And so far, the community is enjoying the new place to eat.
I love it, patron Robert Heard said.
Heard said he ordered the Po Boy and it was tasty.
Amberly Pugh and her daughter Lanie, 4, also enjoyed the cuisine. When we travel, we eat over here, Amberly said.
She said she enjoys the fried chicken breasts while Lanie said she likes the biscuits.
Popeyes opens at 10 a.m. and the dining room stays open until 10 p.m. The drive-thru closes at midnight. The restaurant serves a variety of chicken, seafood, sandwiches and sides.
