Panthers claw Lady Tigers

After a slow start, the Dawson County varsity girls caught fire in the second quarter with a 13-4 run to take the lead over host Union County.

But a one-point halftime lead wasn't comfortable for Dawson (10-9, 1-3) on the road, and things didn't get any more pleasant in the second half.

The Panthers (16-3, 3-1) came out of the locker room on a furious streak and put together a 20-6 run to take a commanding lead, on their way to a 56-41 win.

Dawson's Allie Costley led the team with 10 points and nine rebounds, while Carly Gilreath added 10 points as well.
