Marvin James Bennett, 77, of Marble Hill passed away Saturday May 11, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Bennett was born March 27, 1936 in Forsyth County to the late Arlie and Vie Bennett. A resident of Marble Hill for the past 17 years, he had lived and worked on McClouds Farm in Silver city for over 20 years where he raised his three sons. He retired from the Dawson County School System where he worked as a custodian and was a member of Harbor Worship Center in Dawsonville.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Linda Bennett, Marble Hill; sons and daughters in law, Rick and Stephanie Bennett, Ball Ground, Tim and Kim Bennett, Dawsonville, Todd and Kendy Bennett, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Callie, Ashleigh, Morgan, Mason, Matthew, Taylor, Chloe; a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 14, 2013 at 3 oclock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Shane Wehunt, Rev. Lloyd Chester, and Rev. Chad Wehunt will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 and Monday from 4 until 9 at the funeral home.
