A Dawsonville man has been sentenced to one year in jail after pleading guilty to statutory rape and sodomy.

Jeffrey Keith Pilcher, 20, will spend one year in jail and eight years on probation.

He was arrested in October of 2013 on charges of sodomy, statutory rape and child molestation. Investigators said the incidents occurred between December of 2012 and February of 2013. An unnamed source tipped off the sheriffs office, and Pilcher was charged following an investigation, sheriffs investigator Ray Goodie said at the time of the arrest.

Pilcher pleaded guilty to sodomy and statutory rape in Dawson County Superior Court on Sept. 2, but prosecutors did not pursue the charge of child molestation.
