The spookiest time of year has arrived, and there are several safe activities available to parents and children.
Tonight, the Dawson County Library is hosting its annual Teen Halloween Party, 6:30 8 p.m., for students in 6 12th grades. Take a stroll through a haunted forest and join them for free, spooky fun including a costume contest, pizza dinner, disc-jockey, fortune telling, candy, and pictures taken by a professional photographer! On Thurs., Oct. 31, Dawson County Parks & Recreation Department will host Trunk or Treat at Rock Creek Park from 4 7 p.m. They invite families to come out for fun and a safe place to trick-or-treat. Activities include face painting, crazy hair, bounce house, Chick-fil-A cow, and more. Admission is free; hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase. Many families have made it an annual event to visit Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge on Halloween for haunted hayrides and other family fun. Hayrides depart from the Lodge lobby every 30 minutes, 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. There will also be games, snacks, crafts, trick or treating on the lighted Lodge Loop Trail. For more information, 706-344-1500.
