Dawson County's only CVS pharmacy was robbed at gunpoint during lunchtime on Monday.

"The Dawson County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about an armed robbery at CVS," Capt. Tony Wooten said. "He displayed a handgun and asked for prescription medication."

A call was placed from the store to 911 at 12:09 p.m.

"He took the medicine he requested and left on foot," Wooten said.

Video footage from the store located at 6327 Highway 53 East in Dawsonville, showed a white male wearing jeans, a gray coat and light colored hat entered the store at noon.

"After he got what he wanted, he headed toward the Burger King," Wooten said. "This subject could be responsible for more than one of these armed robberies in other north georgia areas."

An employee at the store was first approached by the man and the employee then went to the pharmacist.

"They complied with his request, which is exactly what they should have done for the safety of their people," Wooten said.

Anyone with information about this person should contact the Dawson County Sheriff's Office, 706-344-3636.
