Authorities used a Taser during the arrest of a local man who resisted arrest after making threats against a neighbor.

John Trump, 53, of Dawsonville, was arrested Friday, July 31, for refusing to comply with a law enforcement officers request to be taken into custody.

After he was told hes under arrest, he came at an officer in an aggressive manner, which led to the officer having to use a Taser on him, Dawson County Capt. Tony Wooten said. He physically refused to be arrested.

Trump had called 911 and told a dispatcher how he planned to physically assault a female neighbor, Wooten said.

The incident occurred sometime between 10-10:30 a.m. on July 31.

Details of the dispute between the neighbors are unclear.

Were familiar with Mr. Trump based on his previous criminal history, Wooten said.

Trump was charged with obstruction of an officer and making terroristic threats. At press time, no bond had been set.
