Graduation

Saturday's weather for the DCHS Class of 2013 gradation held at Tiger Field was much like the class itself nearly perfect.

"It was only fitting that the graduation ceremony for this class went so well," DCHS Principal, Dr. Jute Wilson said. "The weather was outstanding; we had a great crowd, and the event was flawless. We cannot say enough good things about the class of 2013. This class is one of the best we've ever seen come through DCHS."

Temperatures were in the low 80's with sunny skies.

With 62 honors graduates, a Lady Tiger's basketball team who made it to the State Championship, seven soccer players being selected for the 2013 7-AAA All Region teams, and multiple students earning four-year athletic and academic scholarships, it has been a banner year for the DCHS Tigers.

Dawson County School Superintendent, Keith Porter, agrees.

"It was a beautiful day for the graduates, their families and all of us," Porter said."We are very proud of the Class of 2013, and their many accomplishments.

"It was great to observe the joy of the families on seeing their children reach this milestone. My appreciation also goes out to the faculty and staff for all their efforts in making this day special for the graduates."

Speakers included Valedictorian and STAR student, Spencer Roper, and Salutatorian, Kacie Bearden.
