An early morning robbery in downtown Dawsonville had sheriffs deputies using a K-9 team while searching for an armed gunman.

Zoyas Salon was robbed at approximately 9 a.m., Dawson County Sheriffs Office Lt. Daniel Ramsey said. He brandished a small silver pistol.

The suspect fled on foot behind the salon with a small amount of cash and two cell phones, officials said. He is described as a white male in his late teens or early 20s, 511 tall, wearing grey jeans and a navy blue hoodie. The salon was open and no one was injured. Forsyth County Sheriffs Office is assisting in the search with a K-9 team. The salon is located at the corner of Bill Elliott Street and Academy Avenue. Bill Elliott Street near the salon was closed to traffic for about three hours. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dawson County Sheriffs Office, 706344-3535
