Dawson County residents flooded the Winners Circle at the citys Municipal Complex to participate in the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting festivities.

The night was packed with holiday spirit, including dance performances by teams from Sole Impulse Dance Studios, under the direction of Sarah Darby.

Dawson County High Schools Chamber Singers also performed under the direction of Spencer Wright, DCHS choir director.

Mayor Joe Lane Cox gave a sincere welcome to all the holiday visitors who shared warm smiles on the cold night.

Its a good crowd, good weather and I hope everyone enjoys the program, said Cox. The City of Dawsonville really enjoys doing this, and I hope it improves every year.

Community & Southern Bank helped keep some hands warm by donating coffee mugs filled with hot chocolate or apple cider, compliments of the Dawsonville Pool Room and Hayleys Gifts.

After the lighting of the tree, children lined up inside the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame to tell Santa and Mrs. Claus how well they have behaved this year.

John Seibel Photography captured the memorable moments and donated one free photo for every child.

This is a way for us to give back to our community, said Seibel. The city has been really good to us, and we are so proud to be a part of this.

Organizers of the event estimated that more than 500 people were in attendance.

Im glad to see such a good turnout, said newly-elected city council member Chris Gaines. Its good to see families out together because thats what the Christmas season is all about.
