County Grand Jury indicts 49

The March session of the Dawson County Grand Jury handed up 49 indictments on June 27.

Defendants will be arraigned on July 16 or 19 depending on which judge assigned the case.

Sixteen of the 49 indicted were for drug charges. Four were indicted for charges of family violence and one for child molestation.

An indictment is an accusation only. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are found guilty in a court of law.

Indictments were returned against:

Michael Shane Allen, charged with criminal attempt to possess methamphetamine, use of a communication facility in committing a violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act.

Dawn Marie Kimbral, charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Shane David Arnold, charged with aggravated assault and criminal trespass.

James Michael Arp, charged with false imprisonment, two counts of battery, Family Violence Act, two counts of third-degree cruelty to children, three counts of obstruction of law enforcement officer.

John Gaston Bagget, charged with three counts of first-degree cruelty to children, five counts of third-degree cruelty to children.

Samuel Demetrius Battle, charged with burglary, theft by taking (felony), theft by receiving (felony).

Diane Elaine Hambrick, charged with criminal attempt.
