Election season is here and the big day is just a couple of weeks away. With barely two weeks left before the election there is little time to get to know the city of Dawsonvilles 2011 candidates.

Late last week, the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce announced that it will be hosting a forum for all qualified candidates for the Dawsonville City Council.

The forum is set for Friday, Nov.4 at Dawson County Middle School.

There will be an open meet and greet from 5-5:55 p.m. and the forum will begin at 6 p.m.

This year there are three offices up for grabs - the mayors seat and two council positions. Mayor Joe Lane Cox is running unopposed for Mayor, but five candidates have thrown their names into the ring for the two council seats.

Candidates must RSVP no later than Oct. 27 to Warren King at kingwj1002@aol.com. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
