Carl R. Broome, 81, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday June 16, 2013 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born March 19, 1932 in Chickamauga, Georgia to the late Marshall and Myrtle Broome, he had lived in Dawson County since 1996 having moved from Alpharetta. Until his retirement, Mr. Broome worked in residential and commercial construction. He was a U. S. Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict and was also preceded in death by his son, David Broome; grandson, Brian Farmer; brother, Frank Broome; and sisters, Thelma Gross and Joyce Johnson.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Mildred Broome, Dawsonville; daughters and son in law, Deloris Stanberry, Dawsonville, Carolyn and Dale Campbell, Dawsonville; brother, Oscar Broome, Orange City, TN; sisters, Lorine Titshaw, Trenton, GA, Viola Garris, Alpharetta, Linda Baker, Lawrenceville, Margaret Hawkins, Lafayett, Catherine Farris, Hoschton; grandchildren, Robert Brannon, Jennifer Ryder, Amanda Blanchard, Tammy Farmer; and ten great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday June 19, 2013 at 11 oclock at Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell. Rev. Gene Cobb will officiate.
