The 8th annual Wee Books Barn Dance is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, at Kinsey Family Farm in Dawson County. Grab your cowboy hat and boots and be ready to dance the night away for Dawson Countys children.

Wee Books provides free, age appropriate books that arrive in the mail each month for enrolled pre-schoolers in Dawson County, Wee Books President Lionel Graves said.

The American Academy of Pediatrics now urges parents to read aloud to their children daily from infancy. Reading to children stimulates early brain development and helps build key language, literacy and social skills.

Approximately 700 children from birth to age five are currently enrolled in the Wee Books Program slightly more than 50 percent of the total number of pre-schoolers in Dawson County.

To enroll a child in the program, purchase a Barn Dance ticket, or make a donation, call 706-216-0173, or dawsonweebooks@gmail.com.

Tickets for the dance are $36 for adults and $10 for kids 6 - 11-years-old. Children under five are free.
