Accident freezes traffic for hours

An accident involving a tractor trailer filled with frozen chicken, stalled traffic for nearly four hours on Highway 52. The accident occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at approximately 12:30 a.m.

According to Georgia State Patrol the driver of the truck, Sherman Corn, of Cleveland, was negotiating a curve and overturned the trailer into the westbound lane. The trailer struck a warning sign before landing on the bank of the westbound lane. The trucks cab also overturned and struck several trees before finally coming to a stop.

Corn, and his passenger, Jeffery Graham, of Cleveland, were transported by local EMT to Chestatee Regional Hospital for non-fatal injuries sustained. Both have been released. Corn has been charged with driving too fast for conditions.
