Three people are wanted in connection with an early morning smash-and-grab robbery of the Burberry clothing store at the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall.
Two Dawson County Sheriffs deputies responded to the store after an alarm call Aug. 15 at 1:30 a.m., authorities said.
When we got on the scene, officers saw glass was shattered at the store, and they located a sledge hammer that was believed to be used to make entry into the business, Dawson County Capt. Tony Wooten said.
Thieves made off with 58 items including handbags and clothing valued at more than $28,000.
Video footage from a nearby store show just before the alarm call, a tall, slender black male wearing a red hoody and red basketball shorts was in the area talking on a cell phone, Wooten said. A minute later a heavy set black male was seen walking towards Burberry.
A third male could be seen leaving the store with items piled so high you couldnt see his face, Wooten said.
An investigation is currently underway and prints are being taken from the sledge hammer.
It is the second robbery of a store at the outlet mall this month. On Aug. 5, Zales Jewelry was robbed of an undisclosed amount of jewelry, and authorities are seeking a 55 white female. No suspects have been identified.
