A Powder Springs woman who claims she was sexually assaulted by three men in the parking lot of a local business has been charged with false report of a crime.

Sara Catherine Alred, 19, was arrested on the misdemeanor count Jan. 7.

Dawson County Sheriff's Capt. Tony Wooten said Alred told authorities that three men accosted her between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 26.

"She alleged she had been sexually assaulted by the three in the parking lot of a business on the eastside," he said.

Wooten said it was determined through the course of the investigation that she allegedly fabricated the night's events.

She was released on $1,200 bond the same day she was arrested, according to jail records.
