A Forsyth County woman was arrested last week in connection with what authorities are calling a home invasion at a local mobile home park near Ga. 400.

Angela Renae Hawkins, 24, remained in custody on Tuesday afternoon. No bond had been set, according to jail records.

Authorities said Hawkins kicked in the back door of a mobile home on Shade Tree Place overnight April 6.

"She then entered the home and struck a woman, her former roommate, with a metal rod repeatedly in the head and upper body," said Dawson County Sheriff's spokesman Capt. Tony Wooten.

The woman was later treated at an area medical center for lacerations sustained in the attack.

Hawkins was charged with simple assault, aggravated assault, first degree burglary and first degree home invasion.

Wooten said the incident appeared to be spurred from a relationship one of the women had with a man.
