Authorities say a Stone Mountain man suspected of taking a pickup truck from Dawson County may be responsible for additional holiday-related crimes here and elsewhere.

Deodoric Fleming, 32, is being held at the Fulton County Detention Center on two counts of aggravated assault of an officer and numerous traffic violations.

Dawson County Sheriff’s Lt. Tony Wooten said Fleming also faces charges here and possibly in Forsyth County.

“We secured one theft by taking motor vehicle warrant, so we’ll be able to get him here,” Wooten said.

Additional theft and entering auto charges are likely, investigators said.

Fleming was arrested Friday night in Roswell after authorities say he took a Chevrolet Silverado from Dawson County.

Authorities recovered items ranging from firearms to holiday presents that were reported stolen earlier that night from vehicles parked at the Dawson County Wal-Mart and North Georgia Premium Outlets.

“We believe he is also responsible for three entering autos in Forsyth County as well,” Wooten said. “Our investigators are now working with them.”
