About $25,000 in merchandise is missing from the Coach Factory Store after authorities say at least two men smashed a front window at North Georgia Premium Outlets early Thanksgiving morning.

The store was heavily stocked in preparation for the mall’s annual midnight madness shopping event, which kicked off the Christmas season.

“Our investigators are currently working with Coach personnel to determine how many items and specifically which items are missing,” said Dawson County Sheriff’s Lt. Tony Wooten.

The heist happened about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. Officers arrived within five minutes of the alarm company contacting 911, Wooten said.

Investigators have determined large rocks were used to bust the window.

They are reviewing video footage of the crime, he said.

“We’re asking anyone with information to please contact the criminal investigations division at (706) 344-3535,” Wooten said.
