A 39-year-old Dawsonville man has been cited in last week's head-on collision that sent him and a second driver to area hospitals with serious injuries.

Jeremy Burnett told officers he can't remember the wreck on Hwy. 136 West April 21, according to Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman Robin Stone.

"He said he can't remember much of the crash or what caused him to cross the center line," she said.

Burnett was driving west, away from Dawsonville, around 8:55 a.m. when he traveled into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with 21-year-old Shannon Holbrooks, also of Dawsonville.

Both were airlifted to Atlanta hospitals with "non-fatal injuries," Stone said.

Burnett was charged with driving on the wrong side of the road and with a violatioin of registered license plate requirements.

He also received a warning for an expired tag.

Stone said officers do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor.
