A 45-year-old Dawson County man remains in custody without bond after his arrest last week on a variety of felony counts involving child sexual abuse.

Paul Silas Byrd faces charges ranging from aggravated child molestation and incest to kidnapping and false imprisonment, according to Dawson County Detention Center records.

Dawson County Sheriff's Maj. Tony Wooten said the male juvenile victim reported the alleged abuse to a family member earlier this summer.

"The alleged incident occurred in 2007 in Dawson County, but wasn't reported until June," Wooten said.

Warrants were issued last week, and Byrd was arrested Aug. 14.
