An arrest has been made in the shooting of a Dawsonville man earlier this week.

Authorities charged 40-year-old Adam Reeves with aggravated assault and aggravated battery, both felonies, in connection with the shooting of his roommate.

Dawson County Sheriff's Capt. Tony Wooten said the roommate was shot in the face during a physical altercation with Reeves overnight Tuesday at their Sandberg Way home in the Stonewall subdivision.

"When deputies responded, the male that had been shot was walking down the road," he said. "We were able to get him medical attention, and then deputies reestablished contact within the house and were able to talk to Mr. Reeves."

The unidentified man, who was shot, was taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center and later flown by helicopter to Atlanta Medical Center.

"That is our most recent update on his condition," Wooten said.

Reeves, who was detained at the scene remains in Dawson County Sheriff's custody.

"After securing a search warrant of the home, investigators were able to locate the small firearm believed to have been used in the shooting," Wooten said.

An adult female and two teenagers also live at the home and were present when the shooting occurred.

Authorities have not revealed the relationship between the three adults, other than to say they all reside at the home.
